Golden Bears return to the WCLL finals

For the first time since 2002 the California Golden Bears men's lacrosse team played UC Davis and Cal Poly over the weekend for the WCL L championship. Cal prevailed over UC Davis on Saturday by a score of 10 to 8. Prior to that game Cal Poly defeated Stanford 15 to 6. This setup the championship game between Cal and Cal Poly for Sunday. Unfortunately for the Golden Bears Cal Poly came out quickly and never looked back ending in a 13 to 7 victory and the WCLL championship with a automatic invitation to the MCL A national tournament. The Golden Bears did not receive an at-large bid and have thus concluded their season as runner-up in the WCL L with an overall record of 9 – 6, and in season conference record of 5 – 1 and a playoff record of 1-1. Thanks to the players, coaches, boosters and parents for a great season. 

A Rivalry Continued

Your California Golden Bears dominated their cross bay rival, Stanfurd Trees last Friday night in the annual little big game. After a 6-5 first half the bears held strong with shut outs in the third and fourth quarters for a final score 12-5. In their last regular season game, the Bears secured the second seed going into the WCLL playoff. The Bears will face off against the UC Davis Aggie Saturday May 1, 3 PM, at Novato High School in Marin
