Hale Brown Program's First Sophomore Captain
BERKELEY, CA
The Cal Men's Lacrosse program is excited to announce the election of Team Captain, Hale Brown, as voted on by his teammates and coaches. It is believed that Hale is the first sophomore captain in the program's 60 year history. Quite an honor.
The 2024 MCLA All-American faceoff specialist and Team MVP, Hale will bolster the team's already strong leadership established by previously elected captains, Ethan Pavlet (#21, Graduate Student, Defense, Monterey, CA), and Joel Yamada (#4, Senior, Defense, Palos Verdes, CA).
"Hale Brown is so much more than his on-field prowess," says head coach Ned Webster. "Innate leadership, relentless energy, contagious positivity, rugged play, and just an overall likability define him. We couldn’t be more excited that Cal Men’s Lacrosse is being led by this extraordinary human being not only this spring but for the next three years."
A native from Bedford, New York, Hale is no stranger to the spotlight as he captained Lawrenceville School, the #1 high school program in the country his senior year, as determined by Inside Lacrosse (June, 2023).
The 2025 Golden Bears open their season Saturday, February 1, on Maxwell Family Field when they host WCLL divisional opponent, Nevada-Reno. 2025 Schedule.
